See Detroit as you've never seen it before. Our Labor History Bus Tour will take you to the site of the first auto strike in U.S. history, to the place where union musicians created the Motown sound, to the church where Walter Reuther is memorialized in stained glass, to the site where more than 100 young women occupied a popular dime store for a week to win higher wages, and much more. Bus leaves at 11 a.m. promptly from UAW Local 22, 4300 Michigan Ave., Detroit, and returns by 1 p.m. Tour orientation and business meeting of the Michigan Labor History Society at 10 a.m. prior to tour. NOTE: Space is limited. You must register by June 11 at 313-882-2176 or by e-mailing MIchlabor@aol.com with your name, phone number, e-mail address, and number of people in your group. We will confirm your participation. Tour is free, but voluntary donations are welcome to help with tour project.

Michigan Labor History Society will premier a new power-point presentation on labor history, available to show at schools, unions, and community groups. We will also have a brief program observing the 20th anniversary of the start of the Detroit Newspaper Strike, and the 80th anniversaries of Social Security and the Wagner National Labor Relations Act. Food and refreshments by the Wobbly Kitchen. Free admission.
