SCIENCE GALLERY LAB DETROIT is a brand new space that Michigan State University is bringing to Detroit. The mission of Science Gallery is to act as a collider of art and science, and to engage 15-25 year olds in connective, participative, and surprising ways. Homage to Detroit II, a performance by Cruz Castillo, defies the dogma of efficacy and productivity by challenging its fundamental truths in terms of permanent creation. Ultimately, any actions, independently of their results being well-made, poorly-made, or not made at all, are equal or equivalent in value, worth, or function. This poetic event aims to become a creative vehicle for confronting the cognitive structures of the blue-collar ideology.

End the Wars at Home and Abroad! Rally at Campus Martius. This is the Detroit mobilization called as part of national regional spring actions throughout the country. Join us! Share with Facebook friends. Spread the word. The U.S. government and its leading Pentagon generals openly and repeatedly threatened nuclear war or massive military intervention against sovereign nations. Such is the case today with North Korea, Iran and Venezuela. Simultaneously, U.S. military forces are at war in several nations including Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, and Somalia. Hundreds of U.S. military bases circle the globe in more than 170 foreign countries at the cost of $trillions while these same $trillions are subtracted from critical social programs at home. $Trillions in tax cuts and corporate bailouts are granted to the super rich while the war at home takes on virulent racist, sexist, anti-immigrant, Islamophobic and homophobic forms.
