Voters Not Politicians is a grassroots, volunteer-driven campaign working to end partisan gerrymandering, where politicians choose their voters behind closed doors to give themselves unfair advantages. Our solution will amend Michigan’s Constitution to create an Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission that will use a fair, impartial, and transparent process for drawing our election maps. We are recruiting a team of 10,000+ volunteers who will help us spread the word about the proposal in their communities, and we need your help! Come out to the Clinton-Macomb Public Library, Main Branch, to learn about ways you can get involved and practice your canvassing pitch with other volunteers in your region. You will leave the meeting informed, trained, and prepared to spread the word about the Voters Not Politicians ballot initiative! It’s time we draw the line! Whether you were part of our historic signature collection effort last fall, or you’ve just learned about our proposal, you can help set things right in Michigan by working to ensure that voters choose their politicians, not the other way around! Admission is free, and all Michiganders are welcome (including young ones)! However, SPACE IS LIMITED, so please RSVP at https://www.votersnotpoliticians.com/clintontwp0811

Sander Levin, along with numerous Michigan establishment Democrats, has agreed to meet with the people and talk about healthcare. This event is being hosted by "Members of Northern Macomb Democratic Party and Clinton Twp. Democratic Party, Congressman Sander Levin and others". The Michigan Democratic Party appears to be framing the town halls as "come let [the establishment] tell you how to save [the ACA]" seminars, but I imagine that it will be difficult to completely avoid talking about the future. See more info at link above.

The Voters Not Politicians ballot committee and grassroots organization Count MI Vote are co-hosting Redistricting Reform Town Halls across Michigan, and we're coming back to Clinton Township! This is an opportunity for voters to learn about gerrymandering and discuss solutions. It will start with a fun and engaging introduction to the facts, then move into a discussion to hear from you and your neighbors. Like any good town hall, your ideas and concerns will be heard, your questions answered, and your input used to design change that reflects the will of Michigan voters. Admission is free, and all Michiganders are welcome (including young ones)! However, space is limited, so please reserve your spot by selecting "Going" on Facebook. This event will be held in the auditorium inside the main library. For more information about the Voters Not Politicians ballot committee, please go to http://votersnotpoliticians.com/ For more information about Count MI Vote, please go to http://countmivote.org/
