The Voters Not Politicians ballot committee and grassroots organization Count MI Vote are co-hosting Redistricting Reform Town Halls across Michigan, and we're holding one online! This is an opportunity for voters to learn about gerrymandering and discuss policy options. It will start with a fun and engaging introduction to the facts, then move into a discussion to hear from you and your fellow Michiganders. Like any good town hall, your ideas and concerns will be heard, your questions answered, and your input used to draft a petition that reflects the will of Michigan voters. Admission is free, and all Michiganders are welcome. This will be a virtual town hall. You can join the webinar from your computer (to see and hear the presentation), or by phone (to listen to the audio). Following the presentation, you will have the opportunity to ask questions, either by phone or through the chat feature in the webinar. FAQs: 1. How do I join the webinar? Please RSVP at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/redistricting-town-hall-webinar-325-tickets-32953347349 After RSVPing, you will receive an email with instructions on how to join the event. If you do not receive an email, please email us at info@votersnotpoliticians.com 2. Is this webinar free? Yes! However, if you would like to make a donation to support the initiative, please visit http://www.votersnotpoliticians.com/donate/ 3. What will this webinar cover? We will begin with an introduction from Voters Not Politicians and Count MI Vote. We will then review what partisan redistricting, also known as gerrymandering, is, how politicians gerrymander in Michigan and other state, and how it impacts state democracy and voters. We will then discuss ways that we can defeat gerrymandering and will discuss how you can give us feedback that will be used to create a policy to be used in our citizen-led ballot initiative. You will leave this webinar with actionable next steps and an opportunity to get more involved! 4. How can I learn more about Voters Not Politicians or redistricting before the Town Hall?
