Things are for Detroiters right now. Our poverty and unemployment rates are more than double the national averages; water rates are soaring (despite massive shutoffs and protests last summer); and crime in our neighborhoods is steadily on the rise. What's worse is that elected officials aren't being held accountable for decisions (and votes) that impact our communities. Enough is enough. It's time to build power in our neighborhoods. For the first time in 100 years Detroiters are electing city council members by district. We have the tremendous opportunity to build power in our neighborhoods and fight back when elected officials vote against our interests - but we need your help. Join Good Jobs Now as we begin rebuilding power in our neighborhoods one block at a time.
