Environmental Justice March Route: From corner of US-31 across Cypress St. Bridge to River St, West to Maple St, South to the steps of the Manistee City Hall. Speakers will present personal stories of illness due to oil spills and fracking. You are the voice of the people and it is your 1st Amendment Right to Peaceably Demonstrate! Pipeline 5 runs directly under the Straits of Mackinac, the most notable watershed in Michigan. The pipeline was built in 1953 with an expected lifespan of 50 years. It is now 64 years old, free-floating on the bottom of the tumultuous currents of Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. It is no longer viable, yet volumes of oil output have increased without inspection or cooperation with State regulations. Enbridge, responsible for the Kalamazoo River Oil Spill, the building of the Dakota Access Pipeline, and countless spills, poisons our water FOR PROFIT. Clean Water is a Human Right! Stand Up for the generations to come. Americans deserve Clean Energy! Call Andrea Krause @ 231-398-7456 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for questions, directions or to help organize.
