Join us for a special showing of Fischer Stevens’ Before The Flood starring actor Leonardo DiCaprio. This documentary follows DiCaprio as he travels the world to examine firsthand the effects of climate change, and to learn more about possible ways to prevent catastrophic damage that could make the Earth unsustainable for human life. During his journey, he speaks with such influential figures as President Barack Obama, Pope Francis and tech innovator Elon Musk, and makes a speech before the United Nations calling for greater action on this issue. "A sober, thoughtful documentary that combines a lament for a lost Eden with a rousing call to action." -- Allan Hunter, Screen International Afterward Andrew Sarpolis, Associate Organizing Representative of Oakland County’s Beyond Coal Campaign, will lead the discussion on what is happening in the local community and ways to get involved. Bring your ideas and news of local events and organizations to contribute. {The 96-minute movie is sponsored by the Sierra Club's Beyond Coal Campaign}
