Check your polling location here: https://vote.berniesanders.com/MI/ Hey guys, I've messaged everyone with a mutual friend that has liked Bernie Sanders on Facebook that lives in MI. Bernie is still down in the polls by a decent amount, but here's the key: Michigan has semi-open primaries — any Michigander THAT IS A REGISTERED VOTER can vote for Bernie Sanders. (You must request a Democratic primary ballot in writing at the polling place or in your absentee ballot application). *REMEMBER, this is not a winner-take-all contest. If we get 48% of the vote, we get 48% of the delegates. If we get 60%, we get 60% of the delegates. EVERY VOTE COUNTS. I'm not going to sugar-coat things. Michigan is Bernie's best chance to catch up to Hillary - he is about 200 pledged delegates behind her, not counting Superdelegates (which will eventually side with their state's vote - like in 2008, with Obama). MI has 147 delegates at stake - a strong win here can eat into Hillary's lead and give Bernie the momentum he needs to beat her in other large states like OH, IL, FL and CA. Let's make this upset happen, Michigan. INVITE/BRING YOUR FRIENDS As long as they're registered to vote, invite your friends to this event and bring them along to vote. Find friends and friends of friends that have liked Bernie and live in MI at: http://berniefriendfinder.com/ (make sure to select MIchigan from the drop-down list!) **If you have different polling locations, you'll have to vote seperately, but make plans to meet up after to encourage others to get out and vote as well.** You can check your polling location here: https://vote.berniesanders.com/MI/ I had close to 200 friends of friends who lived in MI that liked Bernie Sanders. If you guys live in MI, imagine how many you'll have. ID REQUIREMENT Michigan voters must provide a photo ID at the polls - BUT If you do not have a valid ID you can sign an affidavit attesting that they do not possess a photo ID. Acceptable Photo IDs include a valid driver's license, a federal or state-issued photo ID, a U.S. passport, a military photo ID, a high school or college photo ID, or a tribal photo ID. COLLEGE STUDENTS If you are a college student not living in your home state, you can vote for Bernie in either your home state or in the state in which you are attending school!
