On the anniversary of the Affordable Care Aact (ACA), join Michigan People's Campaign, Fighting #9, Indivisible 11th District, and SEIU Healthcare at a funeral procession march in Detroit. We believe the House of Representatives will vote on their health care bill on 3/23. Let's show our Representatives that we OPPOSE this bill. We OPPOSE cuts to Medicaid. We OPPOSE tax breaks to the 1% on the backs of poor, working families. We want health care that works for all of us. Meet us at 12:15 p.m. at Hart Plaza. The march will go up to Campus Martius and loop back around. We welcome and encourage more partners!" This march is intended to be a peaceful protest against the censorship that has been put in place by President Trump. Science is the basis of all life. From clean water and air to food and safety. We want better medicine and a better understanding of our bodies and our health!! On May 10th, 1933 the Nazis raided libraries and bookstores across Germany and proceeded to burn books they did not approve of. The intellectual censorship implemented by the new Trump administration echoes much the same. Taking control of what we, the people, can and can not read in relation to the newly developed scientific discoveries that are being made. If you are waiting for Science to develop a new chemo drug for child..or anything similar this is a horrifying idea. We MUST stand together to show our president (yes he is our president) and the world that we know what is happening and we want it to STOP NOW!! In the words of a powerful MLK "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." So, gather your friends, family, co-workers and anyone else you can find and lets stand up for what is right!!! This a coordinated Sister march to March for Science DC Check the following web site for location and other updates as the event gets closer: https://www.facebook.com/events/957938401004454/
